Facebook Ads

FacebookMashable recently released an article about the 5 Tips for Success regarding Facebook Ads.  Here’s our take on their list, and how these tips can help your business.

1. Set Goals and Plan Your Approach Accordingly

Decide exactly why you want to run a Facebook ad- are you looking to bring traffic to your actual website or promote a new campaign?  For those looking to add many new fans to their page, the ‘standard marketplace ad’ allows users to click on the ad and go directly to your page and ‘like’ it.  Remember, you can’t stop once you’ve attracted the new fans—you must then engage them.

2. Get Creative With Targeting

When setting up your ad, you can choose many specifications to describe exactly whom your ad will be targeted toward.  This includes age, sex, location, interests and education level.

3. Choose Text & Images that Pop

It’s no secret that more visually appealing ads will garner more attention.  Your ad can be up to 135 characters, but does not have a minimum limit…sometimes it’s better to be short and sweet.  Be sure to include some form of ‘call to action’ statement.

4. Create & Test Multiple Ads

Remember that you may need to use the trial-and-error method to find out what works.  Make several ads for one campaign and see what gets the most traffic.

5. Be Ready to Capitalize on the Traffic

Keep your fan page updated!  It’s ineffective to spend money on the ads if your own page is not up to date.  When people do click on your page, be sure that they will be brought to the most updated and current information possible.
