Reasons Your Business Should Be On Facebook

FacebookIs your business currently on Facebook?  With an estimated 750+ million people on Facebook, I can think of a couple of reasons to invest in a company/business page.  Shown below is a compilation of just some of the benefits to having a business page on Facebook:

  • Facebook provides a great medium for interacting and engaging with clients & prospects.  Should you ever need to do crisis PR, Facebook is one of the first places you would want to turn.
  • It’s free and easy to get information out to many people at once.
  • When your followers share your posts, an exponential number of other people may end up seeing those posts—creating a greater chance for further interaction & engagement.
  • Much like a website, it is expected that businesses have kept up with the times and are utilizing social media.  It's simply a matter of perception and credibility.
  • It’s yet another way to showcase your expertise in your particular field or industry.
  • It’s an easy and effective way to launch a very targeted promotion or campaign.
  • It’s easy to maintain.  It doesn’t take a lot of time to check the page, make a quick post or respond.  A relatively minimal amount of time daily can be dedicated to this task.
  • Facebook is useful for almost any kind of business — particular if your business model is business-to-consumer.  For example, restaurants can give away promotional deals like a free appetizer, marketing companies can provide a discount off of their services and gyms can offer a special monthly deal.  Virtually any type of business would find these promotions useful in gaining fans and loyalty.

These are just a few of the reasons your business should have a Facebook page.  Have you created yours?
