During the last week of August — after approximately 3 months — we had to say "so long" to our summer intern, Jack Butler. Jack, a 2011 graduate of Troy High School, will be taking classes this fall at Oakland Community College while he prepares for his first semester at Michigan State University (Go Green!) this winter.
The summer internship provided Jack the opportunity to apply many of the marketing concepts he learned in school to the "real world."
Jack played an integral role in our summer marketing efforts. And we couldn't have been happier. Among the highlights, he helped spearhead the following:
- Developed the script and "directed" the following "movie" that can be seen on our Medical Marketing Website.
- Developed the script and "directed" social media training "movies" for blogging, LinkedIn and Twitter — all of which are scheduled for a September / October release.
- Scheduled and managed Tweets using CoTweet.
- Created Facebook posts & polls.
- Wrote industry-related blog posts. View Jack's blog posts here.
- Integrated "Text-to-Join" into our Constant Contact email marketing account.
- Identified websites that "don't work" — because they we either poorly designed or not optimized to "be found" on Google.
"The biggest thing I took from WSI was the experience of working in an office and seeing what it is like to be a part of the business world… all in all I have enjoyed my time with WSI and will apply the knowledge I have gained in my future experiences. " -Jack Butler
Good luck, Jack. We appreciate your efforts this summer!!
