If you are a Facebook Page administrator, you have likely already migrated your page over to the new design. For those procrastinators, however, there is still one week remaining until Facebook automatically transitions every Page to this new design on March 10, 2011.
There are several “enhancements” you will notice when migrating from the old layout – particularly for page administrators.

- Photo Strip — Similar to the redesigned user profile, Pages have a Photo Strip above the wall that displays thumbnails of the 5 most recent photos in which the Page has tagged itself. However, the five thumbnails appear in a random order upon each reload.
- Tabs Moved to the Left – Tabs (“Wall,” “Info” and other 3rd party applications, for example) are no longer “front-and-center” across the top of the Page. These tabs are now located on the left side of the Page beneath the profile picture.
- Use Facebook as Your Page — The “Login as Page” feature gives administrators the ability to interact with other Pages under their Page alias – and not their individual profile. Additionally, administrators will also see a different News Feed if they are logged in as their page – a newsfeed that is different than what they would see if logged in under their personal profile.
- Profile Picture Size Reduction — The profile picture is reduced in size from 200 x 600 pixels to 180 x 540 pixels.
- Other Changes — In addition to these first four points, Facebook administrators are now able to now turn on email notifications to alert them to activity on their Page through the “Your Settings” tab of the Edit Page admin interface. Administrators can now be notified the moment that someone writes on their Wall, for example.
These are some of the most relevant changes that will impact your new Facebook Page. For the next week, you can still voluntarily upgrade to this new Facebook Page layout. However, after March 10, Facebook will automatically be upgrading all Pages to this new design.
